Suspended immediately after creating my first account

  • 0

After creating my first account, I was immediately suspended. I am 20 years old and know that getting banned on Amazon would mean the inability to sell there permanently and at all. I would like some help to figure out what I can do to get my account unsuspended and start selling again.
I have seen multiple similar posts on this forum and realised that I need to provide the full story of what happened.

Initially I made a mistake of providing a debit card instead of credit card. This led to the account being open for a few hours, then I received the following letter:

“Hello,

We are reviewing your Amazon.com1 seller account. During our review, you will not be able to sell on Amazon.com1.

Please ship any open orders. If you have funds in your account, they will be available after any amounts paid for A-to-z claims or chargebacks on your orders have been deducted. This usually takes about 90 days, but funds may be held longer.

You can see your balance and settlement information in the Payments section of Seller Central. If you have questions about those, please send an email to payments-funds@amazon.com.

Please provide the following documents and confirm there is a valid credit card on file:

–Utility bill with name and address visible
–Business license, if applicable
–If you have active listings, include copies of invoices, receipts, contracts or delivery orders from your supplier issued in the last 90 days.

You can send files in .pdf, .png, or .gif format. These documents must be authentic and unaltered. You may remove pricing information, but the rest of the document must be visible. Please send the documents to seller-performance@amazon.com.

Once we receive your documents, we will review them and decide whether you may sell on Amazon.com1 again.”

I provided my international passport instead of my national id when initally registering. However, in response to this email, I realised they were asking to verify my address. Therefore, I provided my national id, which has my address and credit card statement. This is mainly because in my country the utlity bills are written in the name of a property owner and I live with relatives.

After providing the following information and changing my debit card into a credit card, I received this email:

Hello,

We reviewed your account and the information you provided, and we have decided that you may not sell on Amazon.com1.

Please ship any open orders. If you have funds in your account, they will be available after any amounts paid for A-to-z claims or chargebacks on your orders have been deducted. This usually takes about 90 days, but funds may be held longer.

You can see your balance and settlement information in the Payments section of Seller Central. If you have questions about those, please write to payments-funds@amazon.com”

Before providing the documents I received another email

All of the documents I provided were translated by notary and while were not the exact documents that Amazon requested, served the same purpose. I cannot provide a business license since I am in the process of being registered as a sole proprietor. I spent a large amount of money and effort getting the documents translated by notary. Amazon has also already deducted the funds for the account from my debit card.

The other demands that were stipulated are impossible for me to fulfill, as I do not have any active listings and cannot provide the invoices relating to them.

Also I would like to ask: is it possible that my mother’s buyer account address may be automatically connected to this seller account because I used my mother’s phone to login to my seller account? However, we lived in China before and that address was attatched to my mother’s buyer account. At the moment we have returned from China to our country. For some reason my seller account has that address despite the fact that I never input it at any stage. This is my first and only account on Amazon buyer or seller hence i don’t see how that address may be there for any reason.

I feel it is supremely unfair as a new seller not to receive any concrete response to my questions even when I created a case that asked why I was suspended and what I had to do to rectify the situation. If anyone has any information please help.

  1. However, we lived in China before and that address was attatched to my mother’s buyer account

Yes, this is a great way to add to your suspension problems that you will not easily recover from.
Get a business liscence. I am a sole proprieter with a business liscence. Your argument makes no sense.
You cannot just send whatever you feel serves the same purpose. Amazon does not care how much money you spent on a translator.
If you can’t play by the rules to GET a functional account, they expect you will not play by the rules IF they activate your account.
Slow down and do this right or don’t do it at all.
